Protection provided by a high SPF factor is extremely important, so we advise you not to sunbathe without a quality sunscreen. You can use your favorite Ommia butter simultaneously with an SPF product – you will achieve a beautiful, healthy, and even tan – but under no circumstances should you forgo a sunscreen lotion or spray.
Ommia’s “Mother & Child” body butter can be used for hydration before, after, or even during sunbathing – your skin will thank you for the natural dose of hydration and nourishment. As for the rest of Ommia butters, we mainly use FCF essential oils in their composition, which means that the compounds responsible for sensitizing the skin to sun exposure have been removed from the chemical composition of the oils – making them suitable for use while sunbathing. However, not all organic or wild-crafted essential oils are FCF, so we advise you to carefully check the label of the body butter you choose to see if it is suitable for sun exposure or not.
We recommend using Ommia body butters at least 2-3 times a week or whenever you feel the need. Apply a small amount (about the size of a coffee bean) of butter to the desired body area. Another factor to consider is the Comedogenic Scale of Butters and Oils, a classification on a scale from 0 to 5 based on how likely they are to clog or block skin pores. A rating of 0 indicates oils that are unlikely to clog pores, while a rating of 5 indicates oils that are more likely to clog pores. For example, Sweet Almond Oil has a rating of 2, Carrot Seed Oil has a rating of 3-4, and Coconut Oil has a rating of 4 on the Comedogenic Scale of Butters and Oils.
In other words, while we recommend using your Ommia body butter only for the body and not the face if you do not have skin issues or oily skin on your face, you can try using the product on your face.
