Mother & Child Organic Body Butter can be used both after and during your bath or shower, on either dry or wet skin. It does not require wiping or washing off and can be left on the skin to hydrate and soften it.

  1. Apply a small amount (about a pea size) of Mother & Child Organic Body Butter to the desired body area.
  2. Using circular movements, gently massage until the body butter absorbs into the skin.
  3. If you still feel the need or if your skin is very dry and cracked, add more butter until you feel your skin hydrated and nourished.

Recommendation: Use your Ommia body butter at least 2-3 times a week, or whenever your skin needs a boost.

Once your bundle of joy is here, you can share your Mother&Child with him/her for sweet massages after bath time.

Protection provided by a high SPF factor is extremely important, so we advise you not to sunbathe without a quality sunscreen. You can use your favorite Ommia butter simultaneously with an SPF product – you will achieve a beautiful, healthy, and even tan – but under no circumstances should you forgo a sunscreen lotion or spray.

Ommia’s “Mother & Child” body butter can be used for hydration before, after, or even during sunbathing – your skin will thank you for the natural dose of hydration and nourishment. As for the rest of Ommia butters, we mainly use FCF essential oils in their composition, which means that the compounds responsible for sensitizing the skin to sun exposure have been removed from the chemical composition of the oils – making them suitable for use while sunbathing. However, not all organic or wild-crafted essential oils are FCF, so we advise you to carefully check the label of the body butter you choose to see if it is suitable for sun exposure or not.

As for the other varieties of OMMIA body butter, our formulations are aligned with the latest scientific research in the field, and we continuously monitor studies related to skincare products for expectant mothers to ensure our products are always free of parabens, additives, toxic compounds, fragrance, and alcohol. However, the presence of essential oils in their composition requires consultation with a specialist before incorporating the product into your body care routine. Although we use low concentrations well within established limits for essential oils, it’s advisable to have a prior discussion with a specialist.

It depends. Generally, we do not recommend using Ommia body butter that contains essential oils on the face because some essential oils can be irritating to facial skin, depending on their sensitivity. However, the percentage of essential oils used in our formulations is very low and always within official limits, following the independent usage guidelines for each type of essential oil and complying with the regulations for using oils in cosmetic formulations.

Another factor to consider is the Comedogenic Scale of Butters and Oils, a classification on a scale from 0 to 5 based on how likely they are to clog or block skin pores. A rating of 0 indicates oils that are unlikely to clog pores, while a rating of 5 indicates oils that are more likely to clog pores. For example, Sweet Almond Oil has a rating of 2, Carrot Seed Oil has a rating of 3-4, and Coconut Oil has a rating of 4 on the Comedogenic Scale of Butters and Oils.

In other words, while we recommend using your Ommia body butter only for the body and not the face if you do not have skin issues or oily skin on your face, you can try using the product on your face. We understand that we are all different, and our skin varies from person to person, so you can experiment to see if Ommia body butter suits your facial skincare routine. Of course, we recommend conducting a patch test on a small area of skin 24 hours before using the product.

The exception is our pure “Mother and Child” body butter, created specifically for pregnant women and babies. This can be used without worry on blemish-free facial skin for oil cleansing as the first step in your cleansing routine. Our recommendation is to follow it with a gentle facial toner.

Regarding babies, Ommia’s “Mother & Child” body butter is perfect for their sensitive skin. It contains simple and pure ingredients, melts easily, absorbs quickly, has no fragrance, and doesn’t contain any harmful compounds. However, we recommend using the butter only on their bodies and not on their extremely sensitive facial skin.

Body butters with essential oils are NOT recommended for both adult facial skin and baby skin.

    I have been looking for a body product made of 100% natural ingredients for a long time, and I was very happy when I came across Ommia products.
    I’m not a mother, not even a future one, but having dry skin, and not wanting to get close to any lotion with chemical substances, I waited for the body butter with impatience and after the first use my skin is much more hydrated, the smell is fine as a nut of coconut and it actually melts when you put it on the skin¸ and mentally I’m better knowing that my skin is being pampered in a healthy way!
    However, I would have liked to see on the website that this butter also contains sunflower oil in addition to the ones mentioned:)…as a small suggestion, you can replace it with olive oil.
